MASSACHUSETTS - REVOLUTION] Group of Resolves of the General Assembly and General Court of Massachusetts during the years of the Revolution, 1776-1783 . Boston: Benjamin Edes, 1776-77; Thomas and John Fleet, 1778-80; Nathaniel Willis, 1780-1783. Sixteen volumes in 20th century cloth. The first titled Resolves of the General Assembly of the Colony of Massachusetts-Bay, the balance Resolves of the General Assembly of the State of Massachusetts-Bay. Sizes vary, tallest 14 1/4 x 8 inches (37 x 21.5 cm); with general titles where called for (one lacking) and subsequent caption titles, pagination as per Evans (lacking one section and one index noted below), generally tall, uncut copies. Many quite clean but the first title page lined, other repairs and short tears, spotting and stains, variously stamped, some contemporary markings, sold as is. This interesting group of resolves includes in date order: Evans 14879-80-81, 15412-13, an Appendix from 1777 not in Evans but Shipton & Mooney 43289, Evans 15893-94 (without index), 15895-96, 16353-54-55 (lacking general title), 16357, 16848, the imprints from May & Sept. 1780 not in Evans but see Shipton & Mooney 43834, a possibly unlisted index (Index to the Resolves from June 2, 1780, to May 19, 1781), Evans 17234, 17598-99, 17600-01, 18026. (The run lacking two sections: Sept. 1779, Evans 16356 and Sept. 1781, Evans 17233; without subsequent printings after Jan. 1783). C The New York City Bar Association
