He was one of the French artists honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in 1960. Robert Kanters (1910-1985) was a Belgian-born writer, critic and literary director who was literary adviser to Éditions Julliard before becoming literary director of Éditions Denoël. In 1973, he was awarded the Prix de la Critique by the Académie Française for his work as a whole.
