There is no other firm of such prominence and stature to have contributed to the architectural landscape. This set remained in the library of the firm from 1915 until the dissolution of the business in 1971. In that year the the firm was re-named for the last surving architect of the original firm, Walker O. Cain and Associates. In 1972, Cain donated the McKim, Mead & White library to the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library at Columbia University. They were deaccessioned in 1985 and have since been in one private collection.
