Provenance : Dr. Ramsay (gift inscription from Archibald Pitcairne (1652-1713), fellow of the College of Surgeons, Edinburgh from 1701, cited in Mead's work). FIRST EDITION. A leading influence on Mesmer's works (see lots 688-673), Mead emphasised the effects of atmospheric tides on the human nervous system. Norman 1475. -- MEAD.
