Title: Memoirs of Mammoth, and various other Extraordinary and Stupendous Bones, of Incognita, or Non-Descript Animals, found in the Vicinity of the Ohio, Wabash, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, Osage, and Red Rivers, &c. &c. Author: Ashe, Thomas Place: Liverpool Publisher: G.F. Harris Date: 1806 Description: 60 pp. (8vo) 20th century blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt. First Edition. Ashe's description and interpretation of Cincinnati doctor William Goforth's paleontological collection from Big Bone Lick, Kentucky, which he famously swindled from Goforth, shipped to Great Britain and arranged for display and later sale to the Liverpool Museum.
