Mesohippus bardi Oligocene White River Badlands, Wyoming Mesohippus is an early member of the perissodactyls (odd-toed), Equid family. There were three toes on its feet. It grew to an adult size of approximately two feet. The present fossil horse skull exhibits exceptional bone quality and fine teeth. The tip of the snout has been restored. From the George Lee Collection of Southern California. Measures 7 1/2in
