MICKEY MANTLE WORLD SERIES HOME RUN TICKET DISPLAY

Estimate
US$12,000 - US$15,000
Price realised:
US$15,000
Beschreibung:

Mickey Mantle World Series Home Run Ticket Display Prior to inter-league play, part of the beauty and drama of having the regular season champions of the American and National Leagues meet to decide baseball's World Champion was in the fact that the two teams did not meet during the regular season and their respective batters and pitchers had to rely on pure talent, not familiarity, when they faced each other. Mickey Mantle hit a record 18 World Series home runs, all against National League pitchers with whom he was not familiar. This elaborate display includes a complete collection of original ticket stubs from the 16 World Series games in which Mantle hit at least one home run (in two games he hit two). The tickets in this run include five scarce stubs from Ebbets Field as well as the coveted stub from Don Larsen's perfect game in 1956. Other components of this creative display include a large (19 in. by 25 in.) limited edition signed photograph of "The Mick" as the centerpiece. Additionally, the display is enhanced by individual placards detailing each home run under every ticket. Museum quality framing and matting brings the overall size of the piece to 41" by 53". LOA from PSA DNA and JSA.
