Small square 8vo, original plain tan wrappers, stapled, within original printed red wrappers with vignette on front, tan wrappers a trifle soiled, some slight wear at fore-edges of red wrappers; maroon cloth folding case . FIRST EDITION, ONE OF 15 COPIES IN RED WRAPPERS of this Christmas poem. PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by the poet on front free endpaper (natural offset from tan wrappers on part of inscription): "To Efrem Zimbalist from Edna St. Vincent Millay." The first (trade) edition of The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver consisted of 500 copies on regular paper; all but 75 of these were bound in orange wrappers identical to the red wrappers here; for window display purposes in his Greenwich Village shop Shay had the 75 copies bound (15 each) in five different colored wrappers: red, dark green, apple green, yellow, and blue. A very good copy. Yost 15. With the Zimbalist bookplate.
