These first two volumes include much on mathematics, astronomy, and other natural phenomena. Among these is "The Famous Mr. Isaac Newton's Theory of the Moon" and "A Synopsis of the Astronomy of Comets." Among the plates is a folding sea chart of the world by Halley, showing variations of the compass, with California depicted as an island. The second volumes lacks the preliminary leaves including title - it begins with page 1, caption title "Miscellanea Curiosa Part II" signature B.
