.71 caliber, 41.25" smoothbore round barrel, octagonal at the breech with Prussian proofs an dated "1835", block rear sight on the tang. Converted from flint with a large nipple bolster with clean-out screw. Lockplate marked with a crown over "FW" and "Saarn" arsenal name, action functions properly. Three band beech wood stock with brass furniture, has a cheek rest on the left buttstock and is profusely proof marked. Complete with iron ramrod, and extremely scarce two-piece cleaning jag & bullet worm and even rarer Prussian cork and lead tompion. Condition: Bore bright with a little light pitting. Barrel aging from gray to brown, brass in an even light mustard finish. Stock has normal wear, moderate wood chipping on the front of the lock mortise. A particularly crisp example of a Civil War import "Potsdam", most of which are encountered in very rough condition these days. The additional implements included are rarely found for sale.
