(N) BELGIAN VIGNERON M2 SUBMACHINE GUN WITH ACCESSORIES (CURIO & RELIC).

Developed in the 1950s, the Vigneron's design elements was strongly influenced by several different key submachine gun designs that were utilized heavily during World War II, including the Thompson, M3 "Grease Gun", Sten, as well as the MP-40. The Vigneron M2 variation further improved on the core design of the M1 design, including a front sight protector, redesigned rear sight, as well as a strengthened dust cover closing spring. This example was manufactured in 1959 and is stamped "VIG M2/ F.P. 1959" on the left side of the magazine well, with "F.P." stamp indicating its issue to the Force Publique (Public Force) in the Belgian Congo. with the right side bearing Belgium's coat of arms. Safety selector switch is marked "S", "A", and "R". Features include a blank enamel finish, integral compensator at the muzzle and cooling fins at the rear of the barrel, collapsible wire buttstock, polymer lower assembly, as well as a grip safety. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, lower assembly, and barrel. This example is accompanied by a spare barrel as well as 4 32-round magazines. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their arsenal blank enamel finish, exhibiting some scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as some light wear overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be a few small spots of light surface oxidation, but otherwise retaining sharp and well-defined rifling throughout. Lower assembly show some scattered handling marks from use, but otherwise is sturdy and serviceable. Extra barrels bore is bright, exhibiting what appears to be some arsenal grease, and retains strong rifling throughout. Extremely easy to clean and disassemble, this makes for an attractive example of an uncommon M2 Vigneron machine gun.
