Author: [Gilbert, Olive and Frances W. Titus] Place: Boston Publisher: For the Author Date: 1875 Description: 320 pp. Preface by William Lloyd Garrison. Portait frontispiece; 3 pages of facsimile autographs at rear. 7½x4¾, original black cloth, portrait in gilt on front and in blind on rear, spine lettered in gilt. The first part offers a revised version of the 1850 narrative (written by Olive Gilbert, and revised for this 1875 edition by Frances W. Titus). The "Book of Life" was compiled by Titus from scrapbooks kept by Sojourner Truth. Ownership signature of "Wm. Harrison Jr., St. Clair, Mich, June, 1878" on front free endpaper. Lot Amendments Condition: Some spotting to cloth, spine ends frayed, corners rubbed; a few penciled notes; else very good. Item number: 196656
