48 x 37 cm. FootnotesAn attribution to Mirza Ja'far has been suggested. For two paintings attributed to this artist, see Christie's, Islamic Art, 9th October 1990, lot 18, a portrait of Nasr al-Din Shah, dated AH 1291/AD 1874-75; and Christie's, Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds, 10th October 2006, lot 149 (a Qajar minister).
