lot of 7. Includes a Hopi overlay silver pin with the Hopi Arts and Crafts Cooperative Guild hallmark and the hallmark of a rattlesnake's tail for either Raymie Naminga or his uncle Walter Polelonema, diameter 2 in.. Both are listed in Barton Wright's 1989 book Hallmarks of the Southwest, p. 94, 110; PLUS another Hopi overlay pin featuring a stylized bird, diameter 1.6 in.; PLUS a pin/pendant featuring an inlaid cardinal and signed Henry & Linda Barber, height 1.5 in. The couple is listed in Wright's book on p. 16,; they worked for Ortega's shop, however their tribe is unknown; PLUS a Navajo concha-style pin with a lapis stone and with hallmark LS for an unknown silversmith, length 2 in.; PLUS a Navajo Pendant of Pilot Mountain turquoise, height 1.25 in.; PLUS another Navajo pendant with hallmark BT for an unknown silversmith, width 1.5 in.; AND the last a triangular pendant of Blue Mountain turquoise, height 1.4 in. ca last quarter 20th century Dr. Kent Vickery (1942 - 2011) grew up with parents who were avid collectors of Native American Southwest arts and crafts. Kent started developing his own collection in the 1950's while on family vacations. Summer excursions to various Pueblos and to the Gallup Ceremonials sparked a true love in Kent and spurred him to earn his PhD from Indiana University in Anthropology/ Archaeology where he specialized in Ohio Valley archaeology. He taught at the University of Cincinnati in the Anthropology Department for almost 34 years and on retirement, he and his wife, Karen, moved to Woodland Park, CO. Kent had a wide range of interests and collections including Native American art, both contemporary and ethnographic, Tribal art, and American antiques. He and Karen continued to collect until 2011.
