NELSON, Horatio (Admiral, 1758-1805). Two documents signed (with the right hand, 'Horatio Nelson'), orders addressed to Lieutenant Richard Sainthill, Agent for Transports, 'Camp before Calvi', 20 June and 20 July 1794 , in the first requiring him to land out of the Transports sail booms or spars to erect tents and provisions; in the second to land empty wine pipes for erecting batteries, 2 pages, oblong 8vo (175 x 200mm) , (cut from larger leaves, discoloured). The first document is dated one week after Nelson, commanding the Agamemnon , received the injury from an enemy shell which lost him the sight of his right eye. (2)
