NINE TSUBA OF VARIOUS TYPES MOMOYAMA/EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1600-1850) The iron tsuba comprising: an oval plate without hitsu-ana carved with bamboo leaves covered in gold and silver dew drops (Umetada school style, circa 1700)--7.6cm., h., 7.4cm., w., 4.5mm. th.; a round (Katchushi style) plate pierced with half a kiku flower, (circa 1600), (rust and pitting)--6.7cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a square mokko plate inlaid with a rat and plants, (Nara school style, circa 1700)--6cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a thick round plate pierced with bars and inlaid with red copper (rubbed), (circa 1650)--7.6cm. h., 6mm. th.; an oval, hammered and heat-stamped plate decorated with gold nunome , (Shoami style, circa 1600)--7.1cm. h., 3.5mm. th. at center, 6.75mm. th., at edge; a six-lobed plate pierced with three cloud-form commas, the edge in gold and silver wire inlay, (Higo style, circa 1700)--7.5cm. h., 7.7cm. w., 5mm. th.; a thin, round plate with gold and silver nunome design of scrolls and line, (Hizen Shoami, circa 1600)--8.9cm. h., 8.7cm. w., 3mm. th.; a slightly round, trapezoid-shaped plate carved with partial kiri and chrysanthemum crests, (rust and pitting), (circa 1850)--8.5cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a thick oval plate pierced with holes and a deep, hammered surface inlaid in copper high relief with Daruma, shakudo details and gold nunome robes, (Shonai Shoami school, circa 1775)--9.3cm. h., 8.9cm. w., 6mm. th.
