Title-page printed in red and black. Color frontispiece and 14 plates, 8 in color, by Emery Walker Ltd. Original red quarter morocco, gilt-lettered on spine, top edge gilt, others uncut (joints lightly rubbed). FIRST EDITION. Included are: Bible in Greek, 1545 bound for King Edward VI; Munster, 1551 bound for Henry, Prince of Wales; Lucian MS. and Cicero, 1534-37, both from Jean Grolier's library; Euripedes, 1503 bound for Marx Fugger and Erasmus, 1540 bound for Thomas Wotton. Breslauer, Uses , p. 30 ("containing highly important essays on French and English bindings").
