Norman Parkinson (1913-1990) Richard Attenborough with Daughter Jane Mary; Farewell, Vicar and Child; Aquascutum Bowler Hat Boy Three vintage gelatin silver prints, 1956-1957, each annotated in pencil verso in an unknown hand, each on gloss photographic paper, each with margins, various sizes, the largest sheet 380 x 305mm (15 x 12in) (unframed) (3) Richard Attenborough (1923 - 2014), was a world renowned English actor, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and politician. Attenborough lived a full life. Having served in WWII, he went on to find great successes on and behind the screen. His daughter Jane Mary Attenborough (1955-2004) followed in his footsteps. Specifically her love for Dance and the Arts brought her into the industry until her untimely, tragic death in the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. Norman Parkinson often known as the 'father of fashion photography', combined work life and family by frequently having his family join him on modelling campaigns. In the photograph with the Vicar is Parkinson's niece Caroline Owen, and the bowler hat boy is his own son, Simon Parkinson. Provenance: From the Angela Williams Archive, United Kingdom. Gifted directly from the artist to Williams, who was an assistant to Norman Parkinson during the time his studio was based in Twickenham, London. Exhibited: Age of Innocence Exhibition, Julia Margaret Cameron Museum, Isle of Wight, 2011.
