The third and last edition of the Year Books (issued previously in 1915 and 1920) by the largest and oldest Japanese-American daily newspaper in the pacific Northwest, begun in 1902 and halted by the internment of its staff (and most of its readers) in 1942. After the War, it was restarted and renamed the North American Post, still in existence. The bulk of the book is a directory of Japanese-American businesses and Japanese-residents in the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada, California, Wyoming, Utah, the territory of Alaska – and some in Canada. Proper names are given in Japanese characters, but the street addresses in English. The California list is surprisingly small, and there is no mention of Hawaii.
