NUREMBERG 1650 -- [PRINTS]. Three engravings depicting the fireworks display in Nuremberg Castle on the Schiessplatz of Saint Johannes, 1650, including one by Peter TROSCHEL (432 x 792 mm, trimmed within platemark on sides), Lotz, p.98. This engraving portrays fireworks held in Nuremberg to celebrate the restoration of peace after the Thirty Years' War within the Holy Roman Empire. -- One other is after Troschel of the same scene and another is by unnamed artists. -- [ With: ] A Swedish firework celebrating the same event, 1650. -- And two other German firework displays, 1667 and 1747 (Lotz, p.99).
