Illustration on p.[1] of various aircraft, both heavier and lighter than air, filling the skies above Los Angeles; portraits on p.[4] of aviators Louis Paulhan nd Glenn Curtiss. 24x16 cm. (9¾x6¼"). Rare program for the Los Angeles International Air Meet (January 10 to January 20, 1910) which was among the earliest airshows in the world and the first major airshow in the United States. It was held in Los Angeles County, California at Dominguez Field in present day Carson, California. Spectator turnout numbered approximately 254,000 over 11 days of ticket sales. The Los Angeles Times called it "one of the greatest public events in the history of the West”. OCLC/WorldCat lists only one copy of the January 13th program, at UCLA, and one copy of the January 14th program, at UCSD, with no other programs for the air meet listed. Lot Amendments Condition: A little creasing and wear, very good. Item number: 256670
