The original two tome hardbound compilation of the Oldman catalogs. It includes Oldman's Vols 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. The first tome with original photographic plates, the second tome with four original photographic plates and the remainder with photocopied plates. (Oldman's Vol. 1 was not bound up because there were no plates). The first tome begins with Catalogue of Ethnographical Specimens, Eastern Arms, & C., issued by W. O. Oldman, 77 Brixton Hill, London, S.W. November 1904. No. 20. (His Special list of Genuine Curiosities at Low Prices no. 1 begins January 1903 and runs to March 1904 and contained no photographs so it was not included in the early 20th century bound volumes.) The second tome ends with his catalog 91 Vol. vii. Oldman had these volumes privately compiled in London. Each photograph is attached to its own page. Oldman's major focus was on Oceanic and African material. These original tomes are quite rare. each 9in (22.85cm) by 6in (15.25cm) PROVENANCE Private Collection, Santa Fe, New Mexico
