Title printed in red and black. Hand-coloured frontispiece and 11 plates after Gilbert James Mid 20th-century crushed red morocco gilt by Bayntun (Riviere), the upper cover with a gilt-stamped chalice surrounded by a snake stamped in outline and coloured green, purple and tan by hand, cornerpieces of vine designs stamped in outline and coloured in green, brown and purple by hand, the lower cover with a central grape-cluster and vine-leaf design stamped in outline and coloured green, brown and purple by hand, both covers with gilt fillet borders, the spine divided into 6 compartments by deep raised bands, lettered in gilt in 2, the others decorated with a vine design composed of a central stalk onlay surrounded by grape-clusters and vine leaves stamped in outline and coloured in green, brown and purple by hand, the compartments with gilt frames, turn ins gilt with a vine roll, yellow watered silk pastedowns and endleaves, gilt edges (upper hinge cracked). A FINE MOSAIC BINDING BY BAYNTUN RIVIERE.
