(Order Tubinares), bound from the original 5 parts, first edition, number 176 of 225 copies, 106 fine hand-coloured lithographed plates by J.G.Keulemans and H.Gronvold, very occcasional marginal soiling, plates otherwise clean but very lightly offset on facing leaves, ex-library copy with accession number neatly removed from verso of title and small ink stamp to head of first leaf of text, otherwise no internal library identification and plates unstamped, bound in publisher's olive morocco, flying petrel in gilt on upper cover, spine gilt in compartments with petrel motifs and four raised bands, librry number at foot, inner gilt dentelles, t.e.g., others uncut, original part wrappers bound in at end, very slightly rubbed, spine faded, a very good copy, [Anker 163; Nissen IVB 356], 4to, 1907-10. *** The work was begun by Osbert Salvin but on his death it was completed by Godman aided by Richard Bowdler Sharpe, whose daughters carried out the colouring of the plates.
