Here's a delightful color illustration of Mickey Mouse by an unknown artist, possibly a Disney animator, signed and inscribed to a woman named Joan, probably in the mid-1950s. Although Walt Disney came up with Mickey's name and character design, he left the artwork itself to more skilled hands. Signed original drawings of Mickey Mouse by Walt Disney simply don't exist outside of a few rare examples; hence, studio-drawn Mickeys signed by Walt Disney are considered the gold standard of Disney autographs. Walt Disney's signature is one of the most recognizable in the world, thanks to the stylized version that serves as the Disney company logo.
