First Edition. With the Durdans bookplates and stamps of the Earl of Rosebery. This is Macpherson's most valuable work, containing extracts from the Life of James II, and Jacobite correspondence from the Nairne papers. Davies & Keeler 369. Grose 3008. Lot Amendments Condition: Vol. 1 joints cracked, boards loose but holding, vol. 2 boards detached but present, wear and rubbing to calf; some browning/offsetting to endpapers, interiors solid; good.
