LONDON: EDWARD ORME 1819 [WATERMARKED 1829] Small folio. 40 hand-colored aquatint plates after Atkinson, Heath and others. 2pp. list of "Principal Subscribers." Contemporary half red morocco and marbled paper covered boards, letterpress paper label on the upper cover, spine with double-raised bands in five compartments, second and third gilt lettered, brown endpapers, uncut. "The many important vicissitudes and national anecdotes which occurred during the late disastrous war, have occasioned too general an interest to be overlooked. The object of the present work is to consolidate those transactions, and to concentrate their brilliancy into one focus" (Publisher's Address). The work includes views of many of the Duke of Wellington's triumphs, the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's Russian campaign, and the Battle of Trafalgar.
