Provenance: Inscribed on the stretcher “Rønningesøgaard 61”, which refers to the sitter's connection to Rønningesøgaard manor. Hans Hansen Rasch was the father of Johan Casper Rasch (1694–1770), who had ownership of Rønningesøgaard from 1733–1770, and was the first of the Rasch family to inhabit the manor.
