A lot of three 18K gold and enamel openface verge watches Signed Peacock, London, No. 2122, 1774, William Mayo, Coventry, No. 536 and Hilgers, Paris, No. 7664, circa 1820 All with gilt-finished verge movements, chain fusées, Peacock : white enamel dial, Roman numerals, plain inner case, outer case with white and blue champlevé enamel foliage decoration, centred by an en grisaille painted enamel classical scene, diamond thumbpiece, cases stamped with London date letter for 1774, dial signed, movement signed and numbered ; Mayo : later white enamel dial, Roman numerals, plain inner case, outer case with translucent polychrome enamel decoration on engine-turned background, centred by a painted polychrome enamel classical scene, cases stamped with London date letter for 1780, movement signed and numbered ; Hilgers : white enamel dial, Roman numerals, engraved scroll decorated case, paste-set bezel and rim, painted polychrome enamel kitchen scene to the reverse and to the inside, movement signed 53 mm., 43 mm. & 40 mm. diams.
