Contemporary half roan, marbled boards (some rubbing). Perkins, a Southwark brewer, began his collecting at the Sykes sale. His library, while relatively small, consisted mainly of books of great value and included two Gutenberg Bibles, several books printed on vellum, and illuminated manuscripts among others.
