first edition, presentation copy from the author inscribed in ink at head of title “Tho.Walcot ex dono Authoris”, engraved portrait tipped in, 2 plates (with letterprekss key on versos) and 2 illustrations of coats-of-arms (one with letterpress slip tipped underneath), errata leaf at end, a few contemporary ink annotations, frontispiece and title slightly creased, frontispiece with small abrasions and with one or two other leaves a little water-stained across upper outer corner, a few other small stains, cropped with slight loss to plates at lower edge, tear along plate-mark on I2 repaired, contemporary scribblings on front free endpapers, J.A.Freilich’s copy with his book-label, contemporary sprinkled calf, rubbed and water-stained, spine repaired, preserved in modern board folder and calf slip-case with gilt spine and labels, [Duveen p.468; Goldsmiths’ 1930; Kress 1270; Wing P1908], folio, by H.L. and R.B. for Thomas Basset, 1670.
