London: printed for H.M.S.O., sold by Longmans & Co [and others], 1881. Large 4° (308 x 245mm.) 30 hand-coloured lithographic plates by J. Smit, printed by Hanhart, illustrations. Modern half calf with early marbled boards. A finely-illustrated report on the approximately 900 specimens collected by the expedition. 'The collection was formed under the superintendence of Mr. John Murray one of the naturalists of the Expedition, and the skins were chiefly prepared by Mr. Frederick Pearcey, who accompanied the vessel as taxidermist' ('Introduction', p.1).
