Photographs of the Holy Land. Published by Boulos Méo, Jerusalem, [late 19th century]. Album with 36 photographs of sites and figures in Palestine by the photographer L. Fiorillo and by "American Colony" photographers (titled in the plates; some in French and some in French and English). The album includes: * Photographs of views and sites in Palestine, most of them by "American Colony" photographers (signed in the plates: "American Colony Jerusalem"). Among them, photographs of Jaffa, Ramla, Jerusalem (Western Wall, Dome of the Rock, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and more), Bethlehem, Jericho, Dead Sea and Tiberias. * Photographs of local residents in traditional costumes, by the photographer L. Fiorillo. Among them: photographs of Jews in Jerusalem, Bedouins, Arab merchants, and more. The album was published by Boulos Méo (see next item) and is bound in a fine olive-wood binding, with a leather spine; A "Jerusalem Cross" is carved on the front with the printed title "Jerusalem" in English and Hebrew. On both sides of the binding are colorful frames created by miniature pieces of wood set in the binding. 36 photographs, mounted on the album leaves. Album: 21X14 cm. Good condition. Some photographs are faded. Stains (most photographs are clean). The first photograph is in fair condition. Tears and defects to spine. No tissue guards.
