Leipzig: Verlag von F.C.W. Vogel, 1909. 4to (251 x 175 mm). Unopened. Original printed wrappers, housed in a modern cloth box. Condition: cover lightly soiled along lower margin and with small chips. first publication of minkowski’s “raum und zeit”. Minkowski had first introduced his theory of the space-time continuum in an earlier paper of 1907 ( Zwei Abhandlungen über die Grundgleichungen der Electrodynamik ), but the present work is less technical in its language and brought the concept to a wider audience. This work led Einstein to expand the theory of relativity to a general form. Norman 1514; PMM 401.
