Condition ReportIt has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. The canvas is not lined and is a bit wavy. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however, examination under UV light appears to reveal dots and lines of retouching along the extreme edges, a few additional small spots of retouching in places, most predominately: 18 cm from the upper edge and 15 cm from the left edge, 21 cm from the upper edge and 16 cm from the right edge, as well as 44 cm from upper edge and 16 cm from the right edge. There is a curved repaired tear (approx. 3 cm long) associated with a spot of retouching visible under UV light to the yellow pigment below the train. There are a few smaller dots of retouching visible under UV light in places. There are two stretcher bar marks running horizontally across the center of the composition. There is some frame rubbing associated with a few paint losses along the extreme edges. There are two pinholes to the centre of the wheel. There are a few scattered fly spots. This work is in overall good condition and could benefit from a light clean. "
