Henry Place: New York Publisher: Rand McNally & Co. Date: 1937 Description: 80 pp. Illustrated throughout in black and white. (4to), original grey cloth stamped in blue, illustrated endpapers, pictorial dust jacket. First Edition. Inscribed on the front free endpaper by Gone With the Wind author Margaret Mitchell to her nephew, Henry: "For Henry from Aunt Peggy - May 3, 1938, Atlanta, GA." An interesting association copy, as perhaps some of the images within provided inspiration for scenes in Gone with the Wind, which was first published in 1936. The volume is profusely illustrated with railroads, scenes, and costumes from the mid-nineteenth century. Lot Amendments Condition: Wear and rubbing to jacket with some chips and closed tears to edges, larger closed tear to back panel repaired with tape on verso, light wear to cloth with rubbing to extremities, spotting to text block edges; very good.
