(269) pp. Illustrated with black and white woodcut headpieces, initials, and chapter titles by Eric Gill Original three-quarter pigskin over tan cloth-covered boards, stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed; by Sangorski & Sutcliffe; in slip case. From the library of Norman J. Sondheim, and with his book-plate on front paste-down. The finest achievement of the Golden Cockerel press' 40-year run, and one of the most beautiful books to come out of the private press movement. This volume is often compared to the Doves Press Bible and the Kelmscott Press Chaucer.
