PSALTER, Latin and German. [Der Psalter latijn und duytsch myt der glosen und gantze verstant] . Cologne: Hermanus Bungart de Ketwich, 1509. 8° (196 x134mm). Woodcut illustration on a1, printer's device on final page, some initials supplied in red ink, double column, black letter. (Lacks first two leaves, a2/3 and Q1-4, the last supplied in manuscript, misbound, h4 v and g1 r defaced, the former torn, with loss to 10 lines, some marginal tears, rather soiled and dampstained.) Contemporary blindstamped vellum, spine in compartments (slightly worn, split in upper hinge, lacks ties). Provenance : Fr. Didarus Stella of the Spanish Minorite Order in Cologne (inscription on front pastedown); Nicolaus Brendanus? (inscription of title); 18th-century German inscription on lower endpaper. The first Latin and Low-German Psalter, the Latin verses printed in larger type with German in smaller type with gloss. Adams L1252.
