xii, 339, [1] + [8] ad pp. Illustrated with 12 plates from designs by T.M.R. Whitwell, including frontispiece. Reprint. Originally published in book form in 1909. This series of stories marks the glorious accession of P.G. Wodehouse's character Rupert Psmith, aka Ronald Eustace Psmith, who adopts the silent P in his surname to distinguish himself from all other punters named simply Smith. "Of the original fifty-nine chapters, chapters 30-59 were published with a few changes in 1935 as Enter Psmith. In 1953, chapters 1-29 were issued entitled Mike at Wrykyn with a few changes, and the last thirty chapters were reissued as Mike and Psmith following the 1955 Enter Psmith." McIlvaine, A12A (for first book edition). Ownership marks on front free endpaper dated 1912.
