He traveled to Rome in 1679-80 and was strongly inspired by Italian artists, primarily Michelangelo Buonarroti This drawing, of Moses and the brazen serpent is a demonstrative example. In this drawing, as in other biblical and mythological scenes, the artist accentuates the anatomic precision in the description of the figures.
