Raymond de la Fage (French, 1650-1684), Moses and the Brazen Serpent, pencil and ink on linen paper, 52.5X43.5 cm, signed. French artist Raymond de la Fage is known mainly for his drawings. He traveled to Rome in 1679-80 and was strongly inspired by Italian artists, primarily Michelangelo Buonarroti This drawing, of Moses and the brazen serpent is a demonstrative example. In this drawing, as in other biblical and mythological scenes, the artist accentuates the anatomic precision in the description of the figures.
