René Lalique Double door Lubin1926 Glass with engraved decorationSteel frame 248 x 148 cm ; 97 5/8 x 58 1/4 in. ------------------------------------------- René Lalique Double Porte Lubin1926 Dalle de verre à décor gravéEncadrement en acier 248 x 148 cm ; 97 ⅝ x 58¼ in.Condition reportThese doors are part of a rare set ordered directly from René Lalique in 1925-1926 by a Parisian collector and remained in the same family until today.It is exceptional to find such a set at auction.Very good overall condition.The metal presents with some rust stains and some oxidation marks throughout, as well as some surfaces scratches, liquid residue and instances of wear to the varnish in a few areas.A few white paint stains on the lower part of each door.The glass presents with light dirt, with very light instances of wear, two tiny little chips almost invisible, and very light rubbing marks, all only visible upon closing inspection.The door frame (not pictured in the catalogue), composed of 2 lateral elements and an upper element, presents with rust stains, rubbing marks and surface scratches. A vertical element of the door frame has been cut on its lower part (about 5 cm) and will require readjustment at the time of assembly.Four handles are provided.These doors are part of a rare set ordered directly from René Lalique in 1925-1926 by a Parisian collector and remained in the same family until today.It is exceptional to find such a set at auction.
