1 bottle per lot
1978 RICHEBOURG FROM DOMAINE DE LA ROMANEE-CONTI Richebourg Grand Cru--Vintage 1978 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Bottle number 5259. Lightly bin-soiled label. Level 1 cm below the cork Vintage note: At last, a great vintage. Yet, weather-wise it was touch and go: spring and early summer cold, retarding vegetation and flowering. Around the third week in August, the sun came out and superb weather through September and into October saved the vintage which started in the Côte d'Or, around 11 October, resulting in a small but healthy crop, producing wines with good colour, alcoholic content, and notably aromatic. Thanks to high extract and tannins, the best are still drinking well and some have yet to attain their peak. No good burgundy cellar should be without a bottle or two. *****. Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine 1 bottle per lot
