Depicts a classical woman in a long dress with papers in her hand; to the right of her is a desk covered in books and a globe, a landscape painting hangs on the wall behind. Signed on the back "Marquise de Pompadour" and has the blue beehive mark with "Austria" underneath. In good condition with a slight scratch on cheekbone and slight touchup to the gilded frame. Plaque: 15 1/2 in. diameter. Frame: 22 1/2 in. high x 22 1/2 in. wide.
