Cook and Son Date: 1888 Description: 37 pp. With folding Plan of Golfing Course, St. Andrews. 8.6x11.4 cm. (3¼x4½"), full vellum, wraparound front cover with tab, to be inserted in slot on rear cover, front cover lettered in gilt. With a pocket affixed on the inside of the front cover, in which to place small items such as event tickets. Includes special rules for medal play, and a very helpful index at rear. An early and rare rulebook, only one copy located by OCLC/Worldcat, at the British Library. This copy is unique in that it is fully bound in vellum, no doubt a custom binding, perhaps for a member or an official of St. Andrews. Lot Amendments Condition: Some marks of darkening to vellum, tiny nick at bottom of hinge of wraparound cover; else near fine. Item number: 306825
