RUSSELL FLINT, William (1880-1969, illustrator). Le Morte Darthur. The Book of King Arthur and of his Noble Knights of the Round Table. London: Philip Lee Warner 1910-11. 4 volumes, 4°. Half titles, mounted coloured frontispieces and plates by William Russell Flint (a few light spots to text). Original limp vellum gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut, green silk ties. Provenance : AILEEN PRINGLE (signature "Aileen" on front free endpaper). Actress Aileen Pringle (1895-1989) was the star of Three Weeks (1924) and many other silent movies. This copy was a gift from her first husband, Charles Pringle, and is initialled 'C.P.'. Following their separation she was briefly married to JAMES M. CAIN, author of The Postman Always Rings Twice . NUMBER 384 OF 500 COPIES. (4)
