Steel ramrod with knurled tip. Condition: Very good to fine. Barrel retains 97-98% blued finish with scattered pinpoint spotting. Frame with mottled grey metal showing areas of light pitting. Cylinder with dark patina and areas of light pitting. Stock and fore-end retain 98% varnish with scattered light dents and scratches. See Illustration Note: Less than 100 examples of this rare model were produced, the U.S. on the tang would indicate that this is one of the 62 examples delivered to the U.S. Ordnance Department on October 8, 1859.
