Settle Brothers, an 18ct gold pocket watch, circa 1864, the exterior finely engraved with the coat of arms of the city of Coventry within a wreath of leaves, the reverse with a plough within a border of wheat, opening to reveal a white enamelled dial with black Roman numeral indicators, with subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel hands, and a backplate engraved with floral designs, to a later snake link watch chain, length of watch 7.2cm including suspension ring, dial signed Settle Brothers Coventry, case back with British hallmarks for London, 18ct gold, date letter i for 1864, case maker WIH, movement plate signed Settle Brothers Coventry AD 1864, two keys for winding and time adjustment, fitted case; together with two gold rings, Russian assay marks; and a pair of 9ct gold cufflinks, British hallmarks Read more »
