Sir Charles d'Oyly 7th Bt. (1781-1845) and others [ Amateurs Repository of Indian Sketches . Calcutta: Asiatic Lithographic Press for the Amateurs Repository, 1827-1828]. Part I (all published), oblong 2° (27 x 37cm.) Lithographed throughout, 8 plates only (of 10) by d'Oyly, P. Savighnac and William Prinsep (2 after George Chinnery , 7 on india paper, mounted. (Some dampstaining, seven plates with unobtrusive worm track through image, small tears to margins.) Stitched. Modern board portfolio, cloth ties. Rare. Only one copy is listed as having sold at auction in the past teenty-five years: these rooms, 25 October 1989, lot 19. This copy (bound in modern cloth) includes a cut-down title/contents label from which the information concerning the correct title and number of plates is taken. The India Office Library contains a 'fat scrap-book' which contains at least the first plate from the present work (see note to Abbey Travel II, 446). Not in Calcutta Library.
