SIR FREDERICK WILLIAM BURTON RHA (IRISH 1816-1900) The Romany Girl Signed with monogram and dated 1865 Watercolour and bodycolour over pencil 50 x 37 cm (19 3/4 x 14 1/2 in) Provenance: Catalogue of Ancient & Modern Pictures & Drawings, Christie, Manson & Woods, Ltd., June 18th 1943 where purchased by Henry Seymour Guinness of Burton Hall, Stillorgan, Dublin (1858-1945). He was Governor of the Bank of Ireland and the first Protestant Senator in the Free State Senate. Thence by descent to his grandson the present owner.
