Six Chinese Export Porcelain Plates LATE 18TH CENTURY Comprising an octagonal soup plate decorated with the arms of Jenkinson, circa 1765, an octagonal dish decorated with a central coat of arms and the inscription DUM SPIRO SPERO, an octagonal soup plate decorated with the arms of Mawby impaling Pratt, circa 1765, another octagonal soup bowl decorated with a central coat of arms within chain and leaftip borders, the next with a central armorial depicting a heraldic lion, the last with central armorial, the rim decorated with a medieval knight. Diameters 8 1/2 to 9 inches. Estimate $1,200-1,800 Property from the Estate of Margaret Sheffield Martin, Atlanta, Georgia Provenance: Henry Moog, Atlanta (first, second and fourth) The first: flea bites to edge; 1 1/2 inch haircrack issuing from rim; minor scattered grit; shaved shallow chip to rim; Second: numerous small chips to rim; 1/8 x 1/8 inch shallow chip to rim; 1 1/2 inch haircrack just above the armorial; minor grit; wear to paint. Third: numerous small chips to rim; scattered grit; some minor wear to paint; Fourth: Wear to gilded rim; minor flea bites to rim; Fifth: Minor rim chips; scratching to lion above armorial Sixth: Scattered grit; rim restored; some flaking to paint.
